At Panthers Powerlifting we want to bring an end to “Gymtimidation.” We specialize in and welcome the absolute beginner to our community. We have built a community that is the friendliest and most supportive in East Brisbane.


Why Start at a “Lifting” Gym? It sounds counterintuitive, but a specialized strength gym like Panthers is actually safer and more welcoming for a beginner. Why?

  • Direct Supervision: If you choose to lift with one of our trainers you will never be left to “figure it out” on your own.
  • No Judgment: Our strongest lifters were all beginners once. At Panthers, a small personal best is celebrated just as loudly as a large one.

Bec (Grounded Strength & Rehab)

Bec is our specialist for those who feel “disconnected” from their bodies or nervous about starting. As an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Bec is an expert at:

  • The Compassionate Approach: Bec understands that starting a fitness journey can be emotional. She uses a person-centered approach, listening to your fears and goals with equal importance.
  • The “Safety First” Method: If you’re worried about old (or new) injuries or health conditions, Bec’s clinical background means she knows exactly how to move you safely.
  • Empowerment through Education: Bec doesn’t just tell you what to do; she teaches you how your body works. You’ll learn how to breathe, how to brace, and how to carry yourself with a new sense of physical confidence.
